Easy Run Pace: How Easy Should Easy Feel?
Easy running should usually feel controlled enough that you could continue beyond the planned finish. If every easy run becomes a test, the rest of your training has less room to work.
Use effort before ego
A conversational effort is a useful starting point for many runners. Conditions, terrain, sleep, stress, and fitness all change what a sensible pace looks like.
Your watch can inform the session, but it does not get the final word on how you feel.
Why easy days matter
Easy work helps build a sustainable routine while giving your harder sessions and longer runs room to have their intended effect.
When runners make every run moderate or hard, recovery can become the hidden limit.
Know when to back off
Unusual fatigue, pain, illness, or a major change in how you feel deserve attention. Ease off and consult an appropriate professional when symptoms are persistent or concerning.
