Can I Run a Half Marathon If My Longest Run Is 10K?
A longest run of 10K can be a solid foundation for a first half-marathon build. Whether it is enough for your race date depends on how regularly you run, how much time you have, and how your body is handling the current routine.
Look beyond one distance
Your weekly pattern, recovery, experience, and available training days all matter. A single long run does not tell the whole story.
The question is not only “Can I finish?” It is also “Can I prepare in a way I can repeat?”
Build confidence through repetition
Repeated comfortable weeks are more informative than one heroic outing. Let your body show that it can absorb the workload before asking for more.
Adjust the race plan if needed
A later race, a finish-focused goal, or more time to build is a smart decision when the current timeline is tight. Your goal has not gone away.
DOES YOUR TIMELINE FIT YOUR GOAL?
